In former times, the stringband, also called sabre strap, had the task of attaching the sabre to the field bandage.

Since fewer and fewer people carry sabres, but tradition has remained, there are fewer and fewer customers who adorn themselves with such beautiful pieces.

The carrying strap consists of a coloured leather on which silver or gold-coloured braids are sewn.

The leather loop is used to thread the strap to the field bandage and the chain with the duck beak hook is used to attach the sabre.

Especially in South American countries this product is more common.

Therefore there are variants where the braid is made with national weaving of the respective country, such as Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, etc.
