Soutache / Bouritache
The soutache is a braided cord which is used for trimming purposes in the textile industry.
The bouritache has an integrated seam on the backside, which makes it a bit more difficult to work with.
It is more suitable for making trimmings, lacings or similar.
In order that the soutache or bouritache can be produced in the different variants, we have different bobbin lace-making machines with different numbers of winding positions per head.
These are 17, 19, 21 or 23 bobbins per head.
A special variant is the double soutache with 38 bobbins.
The materials we use are mainly artificial silk, rayon, foil spun, gilded spun, and cotton.
Of course you can also make a soutache out of polyester or polyamide materials.
However, these are not relevant for the decorative design of a uniform.
National plaits are possible at any time.
This usually means that we can incorporate the national colors of Ecuador or Colombia, for example, or create different ranks for the fire department.
Soutache and bouritache are mainly used for epaulettes, shoulder braids and lacings.
